Who we are
Levenseller MMA, home to the OutKast's, is a small, dedicated dojo that provides personalized instruction from a team of passionate and experienced martial arts instructors. Meet the Team

Owner and Head Instructor
Sensei Mike Levenseller
I began my martial arts journey at the YMCA, where I first discovered my passion for training and discipline. In high school I added wrestling to my experience, and after college I spent a few years as an amateur boxer. Eventually, my path led me back to traditional martial arts, studying Jiu-Jitsu, Judo, and Shotokan Karate, and earning my black belt in 1992 from Shihan Randy Huard. I spent a few years teaching privately before joining the Alfond Youth Center in Waterville, where I had the privilege of being mentored and guided by Shihan Ken Walsh—an experience that shaped both my practice and my teaching philosophy.
Today, my dojo in Oakland, Maine continues that mission. We offer a variety of classes for men, women, and children, creating a welcoming environment for students of all backgrounds to learn, grow, and strengthen both body and mind.

Lead Instructor
Sensei Lori Abbott
Hello, I am Sensei Lori Abbott;
I am a second-degree BlackBelt and was forty-six years old when I started training in MMA (
SHOTOKAN karate, Judo, Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu and self defense) under OutKast MMA , owner
Sensei Michael Levenseller. With 15+years of OutKast MMA classes, I also have studied extensively
with online classes from Gracie Academy. Together using the many skills OutKast MMA and the knowledge of Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, I’ve learned to develop into a calmer, stronger and more
self-confident woman. I now have developed and designed two classes of my own; A
woman’s self-defense class called Outlast & Survive and a kids Jiu-Jitsu class called White
Knight Warriors. Jiu -Jitsu is not just a sport, It is a way of life, a journey as I like to call it.
Where you will find in yourself a strength and discipline that you never knew existed ,along
with a community that surrounds you and becomes family.
